Holmwood, located in the Southside of Glasgow, was masterfully designed by Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson for James Couper, a paper magnate, and his wife in 1857–8. This architectural gem is widely recognised as Thomson’s most exceptional domestic creation, showcasing his incredible design legacy.

At Holmwood, Thomson’s passion for Grecian styling and symmetry is brought to life in every corner, with lavish decorations that echo the vibrant hues of ancient Greek temples.
